Inherited a mess? I untangle, secure and document sites other people gave up on.
I’ve been building with WordPress since 2006, long enough to watch every trend come and go. The sites that last are built on core WordPress APIs - custom post types, taxonomies, hooks and the REST API - with a bespoke theme that does exactly what your site needs and nothing it doesn’t. No page builders, no bloated multipurpose themes, and no stack of plugins patching over missing features.
Every build is tuned for speed from the start: lean templates, sensible caching, optimised images and database queries that hold up when traffic spikes. That matters for your visitors and for Google, which rewards fast, stable pages in search. Editors get a clean admin with the fields they actually need, so updating content never means phoning a developer.
When an off-the-shelf plugin can’t do the job, I write one. Booking systems, member areas, product configurators, CRM and accounting syncs - anything that needs WordPress to work with another system. Every plugin is built the WordPress way, documented, and written to survive core updates.
A lot of my work starts with a site someone else built. I’ll audit it, fix what’s broken, strip out what’s slowing it down and give you a clear plan, whether that’s a careful clean-up or a full rebuild. Once you’re live, I host the site and keep it updated, backed up and monitored, so one person is responsible for all of it.
I’m based in Fife and work with businesses and agencies all over Scotland - Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness and Stirling - as well as clients across the UK and further afield. Most projects run remotely, and I’m happy to meet in person when it helps.

Yes. A good chunk of my work is inheriting a codebase, making sense of it and getting it back on solid ground.
Most of my WordPress work arrives that way. I slot into your process and your client never needs to know I exist.
I host it for you. Your site runs on fast, managed hosting I look after, with updates, backups and monitoring handled on a monthly plan - one person to call if anything goes wrong.
It depends on scope, but most bespoke sites take somewhere between a few weeks and a couple of months. You’ll get a clear timeline in the proposal before any work starts.
Yes. Every build comes with an editing setup designed around your content, so you can change text, images and pages without touching code.
Yes, when it’s built well. Clean markup, fast load times, proper headings and structured data give you a strong foundation, and if you’re moving from an old site I’ll put redirects in place so you keep your rankings.
No. I’m based in Fife and work with clients all over Scotland, but plenty of projects are for businesses elsewhere in the UK and beyond.
Tell me what you’re working on. I’ll tell you straight whether I’m the right person for it.
