Builds that had to work.

A sample of recent projects - the briefs that land with me when they’re too gnarly, too bespoke, or too important to risk.

WastePrime · SaaS Platform

The operating system for UK waste brokers.

Built solo, end to end - a multi-tenant SaaS that helps brokers match every job to the right supplier and disposal site.

WastePrime dashboard - cashflow, invoice timeline and job ownership
// Dashboard - cashflow, invoice timeline & job ownership at a glance

WastePrime runs the whole job lifecycle: lead → quote → customer acceptance → job → supplier PO → waste transfer note → sign-off → invoice → Xero. Brokers match each job to the right supplier (skip hire, RoRo, grab hire, man-with-van, sweepers) and the right disposal site, and every company runs on one codebase with row-level tenancy. Platform admins can step into any tenant to support them without impersonating a user.

Inside WastePrime

What makes it tick.

DEFRA-ready

Built for the 2026 regulation change.

DEFRA’s Digital Waste Tracking mandate landed in October 2026, and WastePrime was ready before it did. Waste data is captured at sign-off, pre-filled from history, validated locally and dry-run against DEFRA’s sandbox before anything is submitted.

  • OAuth (Cognito)
  • Mirrored EWC & hazard codes
  • Weekly reference sync
  • Phase 2 broker API

Compliance

Compliance built in, not bolted on.

Saving a supplier triggers a live Waste Carrier Licence check against the EA and SEPA registers, then Companies House to confirm they’re still trading. Every quote, PO, invoice and waste transfer note is generated on the fly and logged against the job.

  • EA & SEPA lookups
  • Multi-Quotes
  • Supplier matching map
  • Xero sync

The build

Boring tech, deliberately.

Custom PHP and MySQL, with jQuery and Bootstrap on the front end. No framework to fight and almost nothing to break, so when the team asks for something on a Monday, it’s often live by Tuesday.

  • Row-level multi-tenancy
  • Custom migrations
  • Cloudflare R2, no AWS SDK
  • Nominatim + Mapbox
